One last time for this campaign.
SUPERCAM.

I’m officially the “voice” of @umichtix, the Michigan Athletic Department’s ticketing office Twitter account!!!!!! Woohoo! I get to reach over 3,000 followers with information about tickets, upcoming events and other cool information about Michigan Athletics.
And I couldn’t be more excited with the opportunity! After being a Sports Marketing Intern for the Marketing Department at Michigan Athletics, our CMO Hunter Lochmann and Director of Digital Marketing Jordan Maleh got to know me and knew how much I loved social media, especially Twitter. Yupp, they both call me Hashtag.
And after pitching them the Tweet Your Seat idea and now working in the ticket office, I think both Hunter and Jordan saw that I was capable of holding onto a twitter handle for the Department. Do I know everything about social media? Not even close. But I think I bring some new and creative ideas to the table, they know I’m passionate about Michigan so I will do anything to represent the school well, I’m willing to commit to it and I am taking this as a huge opportunity to learn from Jordan everything I can about digital marketing and social media.
For Under Armour, this further shows my work in social media, my passion for it but I think most importantly, that I can be trusted and I am capable of doing this. I know for a fact I wouldn’t be given this opportunity if Jordan and Hunter didn’t think I could.
I’m thankful to Jordan and Hunter for believing in me and giving me, a student, the opportunity that not many other people might have. I know it’s a big responsibility and I am so excited to get this chance!
If you’re reading this right now: I won’t let you guys down!!!!
Oh and hey, while you’re at it, give @umichtix a follow on Twitter! ;) Yupp, already trying to get people to follow.

This picture was taken this weekend of my friend Brittany and myself at Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit to watch Michigan Hockey take on our in-state rivals, Michigan State.
So it’s just a picture right?
Well, maybe to you. But I’ll tell you why I think this picture describes me.
Spirit Queen
- I am constantly
accusedproclaimed as being one of the most spirited people at Michigan. And I love the honor. I am ALWAYS decked out in Michigan gear for games, regardless of how big or small the games are. My passion is shown through from how loudly I cheer (to the point where I lost my voice this weekend), my constant attempts to get everyone around just as pumped as I am and of course, through what I wear. I like having everyone know what I stand for, who I represent, and why I represent them. At Under Armour, I know I’ll be so PROUD to represent one of the greatest brands in America
Addicted to Sports
- It’s true. There’s really no way of going around it. I love sports and everything about them. Hockey is fun for me because I just like how goals are rare enough to keep it interesting but the game is always so fast and quick. I really will sit through any sport through. We drove to Detroit from Ann Arbor to catch the hockey boys in action regardless of the near hour drive and cold weather. SO worth it. The rivalry in this game helped how exciting the atmosphere was. Just watching the skill of the athletes never ceases to amaze me and that was no exception here.
The Team. The Team. The Team.
- The most important part of this picture is the most obvious part. There is no escaping seeing, “TEAM TEAM TEAM” on my back. Former (legendary) coach of Michigan Football, Bo Schembechler made sure to tell his players that the team came first, to always be a team player and always have someone elses back. The Team. The Team. The Team. I live and breathe by Bo’s words. I think it’s always important to be able to take the lead but not to let others fall back. Collaboration, cohesion and cooperation are the 3 C’s I strive for in group atmospheres. And if I get the chance to be at Under Armour, this mentality will not change. I am always willing to help, I amalways there to cheer team members up and I will always be a team players.
I am always following what the top trends are on Twitter. And this one just made me rush to Tumblr so I could tell you about something I’m passionate about. #BestSportsRivalry
I just wanted to post this because I LOVE rivalry. It’s possibly because I go to a school that has such an intense, passionate rivalry: Michigan vs. Ohio State. It is so intense that our traditions include not just saying “Beat Ohio State” but “Beat Ohio.” Yes, the entire state is involved in this. It is really a state versus state phenomena. There are rumors that if you drive in Ohio with a Michigan license plate during rivalry week, the cops are that much happier to pull you over. Is it true? Hey, I’ve never experienced it.
Such PASSION goes into rivalry. When Michigan defeated Ohio State for the first time in 8 years at Michigan Stadium, I teared up of happiness and rushed the field. It meant the world to me that we finally won. And the fact that my birthday was the next day and it was my only wish to beat that school that wears red made it that much better. And then there are those times that I’ll sit there absolutely heartbroken that we lost to Ohio State. Crushed. Pit in your stomach awful. It makes you mad. It makes you feel these insane emotions that are really unnatural toward the other team. And if you let them get to your head, it can cause negative outcomes. You see that rivalry brings out the worst in people: violence, fights, hazing, crime, teasing, the list goes on and on…
But there are positives to rivalries. Rivalry excites me, fuels me and makes me work that much harder. What I’ve learned from rivalry is that competition pushes me to be a better person. Competition makes me appreciate others efforts and makes me think about going above and beyond. Competition has made me love the reaction on people’s faces when they see how hard I’ve worked and how I’ve exceeded their expectations. That’s the greatest reward of it all.
It also has taught me respect. As much as I can’t stand when that team wins…I know that I will hold myself to a higher standard and not be a sore loser. I have immense respect for Ohio State because you know what? They are so damn good. And we Wolverines know it. Whether we want to admit it or not is a different story but I respect them enough to know that Michigan and Ohio State will always be a good game because Ohio State will play their part in making it an exciting game.
Rivalry puts us that much closer to those that share the same interests with us. In the stands at Michigan Stadium, we always joke that we are watching a game with 114,000 of our closest friends…even though we actually know less than 2% of them personally. But you know what? We all stand for one cause. We all have just this incredible spirit that shows when we score or the continuous encouragement to our team when we’re down. We unite. I’ve learned that I will always stick next to others who I share the same values with. I will unite with them. I will defend them. And I will stand with them.
You see, sports are not just games to me. Rivalry isn’t just this “mad hate” for the other team. They’re life lessons. They teach me applicable stuff that I can translate into real world situations and they teach me things to make myself a BETTER athlete, friend and person. I’m thankful for rivalry and I am so happy that I love sports.
By the way—the answer to What is the #BestSportsRivalry? In my (completely biased) opinion: MICHIGAN and OHIO STATE. GO BLUE.
